Air Gap Intel grew out of work as ISSOs and system administrators on classified networks. We know the limits that disconnected environments place on software, support, and day-to-day operations.
Our current focus is BlackBox Analyst. The product is in development for analysts who need to investigate network activity without handing packet data to a cloud service.
Relevant experience is useful, but careful thinking and honest work matter just as much. People who are new to this environment must be willing to learn its constraints.

Work Location
North Jersey HQ
Our office is in North Jersey. Work location depends on the role and project. Staff may work from the office or from home when on-site access is not required.
On-Site When Needed
Customer deployments, classified environments, and client visits may require on-site work. We state those requirements clearly for each role.
Flexible When Work Permits
Roles that do not require on-site access may be performed from the office or remotely.
Clearance Requirements
We build tools for classified networks. Depending on your role, you may need an active security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Some positions require existing TS/SCI clearance. Others can work with Secret or even uncleared (for commercial-focused roles). We'll be upfront about requirements for each position.
If you have a clearance that's currently inactive, that's often workable. If you've never held a clearance but are clearable, some roles can sponsor.
Typical Requirements by Role
- Customer-Facing / Deployment: Active TS or TS/SCI typically required
- Engineering: Requirements vary by project; Secret or clearable may be sufficient
- Marketing / Business: No clearance required for most roles

Military Experience
Air Gap Intel was founded by veterans. Military experience can bring useful operational knowledge, discipline, and familiarity with the defense environment.
Veterans and service members preparing to transition are welcome to contact us about relevant work.
Relevant Work
We care about what you can do, not where you went to school. If you learned cybersecurity in the military, through self-study, or on the job, that counts. Show us what you've built and what you know.
Certifications are nice but not required for most roles. We'd rather see a GitHub profile or hear about problems you've solved than check boxes on a resume.
